Race was not easy because of the high altitude. Wish I will be back to see the cloud sea in winter and cherry blossom in spring. Stay in Xiding for a night to enjoy the tea!

The walk up from Chaoping Station to the Zhushan Sunrise Viewing Trail is more difficult. Watch the sunrise from 隙頂 | Shi Ding then come here to walk the abandoned rail track to the Shuishan Old Tree.

Beautiful place. Well worth the trip. I recommend going on a weekday, and taking your own car or getting a private tour, this will make the day much less stressful.

Free to Taiwanese or expats with ARC card. Parking is 100 NT. Hotels and restaurants in the visitor center area. Prices are not bad. Worth the trip. Gorgeous forest and walks and train rides

Stunning sunrise views are a real adventure - ride the early train, find a good spot and enjoy magnificent seas of fog and beautiful mountains as the new day begins.
